Barnhill Prize

Longridge Review, for years and years, has provided me a home to offer my editorial thoughts on submissions. I believe (powerfully!) in LR‘s mission—publish essays that reflect on childhood in a meaningful, intelligent, important way. Reading for LR is one of my favorite writing-life duties.

Each summer, LR holds a contest in the name of Anne C. Barnhill, a vibrant CNF writer who died way too young. And each summer, LR‘s executive editor, Elizabeth Damewood Gaucher, conducts the contest with love and integrity.

This summer, 2021, the contest will be judged by none other than Anne’s son, Mike. Sending limitless heart emojis into the world at that news. June 1 to July 31, the Anne C. Barnhill Prize is open for true stories.
