My favorite part of being at The Big E (New England’s State Fair) today was listening to earliest-memory stories. I posed the question a number of ways—from what age is your earliest memory? how old are you in your earliest memory? how far back can you remember?—and passersby shared. Sitting cross-legged in the grass under drying laundry while being told of the moon landing … pulling up to stand in a crib and requesting a favorite song to be played again and again … getting to skip nap for the first time. I loved connecting with festival goers about memory. I also had two super boothmates who made my brief time at The Big E a lot of fun!
